Every night, children across Britain are tucked into bed with full tummies, their only worry being which bedtime story to choose.
Meanwhile, in Malawi, thousands of children fall asleep hungry, their bodies weak from malnutrition, and their parents helpless as food supplies run out.
Malawi isn’t at war, but the children here are fighting for survival.
Back-to-back disasters – a deadly cyclone, devastating droughts, and failing crops, have left families with nothing. For them, hunger isn’t just an empty tummy, it’s the reason they can’t concentrate in school, why they fall behind, and why they may never escape poverty. Some don’t make it to their fifth birthday.

Climate disaster has created a hunger crisis.
Malawi’s children did nothing to cause this crisis—but they are the ones suffering most. Cyclone Freddy (2023) destroyed entire communities, homes, and farmland.
Just as families began to rebuild, another disaster struck. Severe droughts (2024) wiped out crops and food supplies, leaving parents with nothing to feed their children.
Now, famine is spreading, and children are starving.
Imagine waking up to an empty kitchen. No food. No way to feed for your child. Watching them grow weaker, knowing there is nothing you can do.
We were lucky to grow up in a country where food is always available. They weren’t. But today, you can help.

Join the fight against child hunger this Ramadan by donating now.

A big thanks from Yusuf.
Hunger has already shaped Yusuf’s life.
Before our meal programme, he would go days without eating. Some nights, he and his brothers would drink water, just to feel full enough to sleep.
Now, thanks to kind people like you, he receives a warm meal every day. He has the energy to run, play, and smile again. Yusuf no longer dreams of food. He dreams of a future.
Prophet Muhammad
Hunger ends with us.
We were fortunate enough to grow up in a country where we never had to worry about where our next meal would come from. These children weren’t as lucky.
They didn’t choose for their homes to be swept away by storms. They didn’t choose for their crops to fail. They didn’t choose to go hungry.
But today, you can change that. For less than the cost of a weekly supermarket shop, you can feed a child in Pakistan for an entire year.
Be the reason a child in Malawi doesn’t go to bed hungry tonight.
